School has started up again and I’m so glad.  My classes seem really awesome but the amount of reading is totally not awesome.  I still have 6 more books to buy and I’ve already spent 450 bucks.  Ay yai yai.  I wanted to get a lot of reading done tonight but I still don’t have the books I need for my Political Ecology class and my Klamath River Issues class so I just read for the class I’m TA-ing for and I don’t have anything more to read.  I think I’ll finish up reading Dalia Season since I’m almost finished and I won’t really have too much time for fun reading when classes really kick in.  I also found a Dolly Parton autobiography at the used book store that I’m pretty juiced about.  Today was a hard day though because we watched a really intense film called Kanesatake - 270 years of resistance that left me really emotionally drained.  The film explored the resistance of the Mohawk tribe during the Oka Crisis.  It definitely shocked my consciousness back into action after a long break.  The last couple of weeks have just been spent enjoying my time with Deric and being pretty lazy.  I did participate in the day of service on MLK Jr day though where my friends and I went and cleaned up Mad River beach.  We spent the rest of the day enjoying the sun and watching the dogs play.  The weather was cold and overcast today so we may have seen the last of the sunny skies for a while.  Deric’s band played a show last weekend and he sang a song wearing a creepy George W Bush mask that he likes to chase me around wearing because it freaks me out.
